DESCRIPTION:Coppell Lacrosse Association would like to invite you to save the date for the CLA Winter Draw hosted February 6-7th in Coppell\, TX. The tournament is open to girls high school teams (grades 9-12) from all regions. The tournament will be played across three turf fields outfitted with stadium bleachers for spectators and concessions stands. All teams will be guaranteed three 50 minute games across Saturday and Sunday with the goal of achieving cross division and cross regional play. Due to our close proximity to DFW airport\, affordable lodging is available for traveling teams and CLA is available to help assist with arrangements and package deals with our local hospitality industry relationships. DESCRIPTION:October 6th – 8:00 am – 7:00 pm\nBF Phillips Park\, Frisco TX \nGirls Lacrosse Club of Frisco will be hosting it’s Lax Gives Back Charity playday. It is a one day event with all registration proceeds and on field donations going to support local initiatives. \nEach field will have a different charity and we will have volunteers running up and down the sidelines encouraging parents to contribute $1/goal scored on that field. Last year we played on 4 fields and contributed about $1500 per charity – totaling nearly $6\,000. The kids had amazing sportsmanship\, learned a valuable lesson & were playing for a cause! We recommend that each team has a minimum of 15 players (12 players on the field at a time). Each team must wear their reversible practice pennie. All teams will play using women’s lacrosse rules (no contact) and equipment. Each girl’s team will need to provide 15 extra sticks and goggles to loan to the boys’ teams. \nOne Love Foundation Mission\nThe One Love Foundation was started in 2010 to honor the memory of Yeardley Love\, who was a senior\, and member of the women’s lacrosse team at UVA when she was tragically killed by her ex-boyfriend\, just weeks shy of her graduation. Today\, nearly five years after Yeardley’s death\, One Love is doing more work than ever to achieve its goal of raising awareness among young people to end relationship violence. In the 3rd year of this tournament\, the goal is to bring together boys and girls to raise awareness at the high school level by having a fun\, non-traditional lacrosse tournament. \nScreening of Escalation\nIn addition to the tournament\, The One Love Foundation would like to extend an invitation to the parents\, coaches and players of the teams that are participating in this tournament to view the film entitled Escalation and participate in a workshop. Escalation is a 40 minute film that is the centerpiece of a 90 minute workshop that One Love is bringing to campuses across the country this year. One Love representatives will be in town the week prior to the tournament.
